SUBJECT: May 2025 Newsletter

May 2, 2025
Hello! From the PTA President

What a great year we have had!  It takes so many people to run a PTA and I am so thankful for YOU!  Our school has a wonderful community with so many willing volunteers-it truly takes a village!  I cannot express how thankful I am to the PTA Executive Board and each PTA Committee Chair for all that they have invested into our school to make all of our events and behind-the-scenes happenings successful!  It is a special bunch of people!

This last month of school is going to be fast and furious, but most importantly, FUN!  But again, for events to be successful, we need plenty of volunteers.  Please see below for sign-up geniuses to help out at our last few events of the school year.

I would like to invite everyone to our last General PTA Meeting of the year on Thursday, May 15th.  We will be swearing in our new Executive Board and have a few awards to give out.

Thank you!

Lori Tritsch

Room Parent News

Room Parent activities for Teacher Appreciation Week-May 5th-May 9th

Monday May 5th- "We couldn't have picked a better teacher" Have your child bring a flower to school for their class teacher, the room parents will provide a vase in the classroom.

Tuesday May 6th- "National Teacher Appreciation Day" Wear Trailwood spirit wear or your teacher's favorite color!

Wednesday May 7th- Have your student bring a card, letter or drawing to show their appreciation and what they liked most this school year.

Thursday May 8th- Send your student with a parent written thank you to show appreciation.

Friday May 9th- "You are the Sweetest Teacher!" Have your child bring their teacher something sweet!

I would strongly recommend following this same schedule and not altering. It is hard to remember to bring these items on different days if you have multiple children!

(credit to Alex Watkins for getting this out first-thank you!!)

Kona Ice Day! Wednesday May 14th

In lieu of an end of year party planned by room parents-we will have the Kona Ice Truck come. We use the budget for the room parents to make this possible. A sign-up genius will go out to the teachers to pick a time. I will send out a sign-up genius to see if we can get a couple parents to help with the line during the truck hours (10:30a-2:30p.) The kids love it and the parents get a break!

End of Year Teacher Gift

It is always nice to put together an end of the year gift for your class teacher. It can be as simple as collecting a few favorite things and some handmade cards. Please reach out if you need ideas.

If you have any questions please contact Cher Brownback cherylynnbrownback@gmail.com
