meet mr. lawrence

This is my 27th year in the Shawnee Mission School District. I taught 4th and 5th grades for 11 years at Crestview Elementary in the North area of SMSD. Before coming to Trailwood, I was the principal at Rosehill Elementary, another South area school, for six years. I am now in my tenth year as Trailwood principal, and I am proud and honored to serve this school and be part of its history of excellence. My wife, Michelle (Sinclair), and her siblings attended Trailwood in the 70’s and 80’s. The Trailwood community was strong then, and that strength and sense of community connection sustains today.

My oldest son, Bennett, is a KU graduate. He and his wife, Erin, have a daughter named Zoe. My daughter, Sophie, graduated from KU in May and is a Physical Therapy student at KU Med. My youngest son, Cole, is a junior at Shawnee Mission East.
