Meet the 2023 - 2024 trailwood pta Executive Board 

president - jamie reasons 

We love Trailwood! Our oldest son began Kindergarten at Trailwood in 2012 and we have been investing and pouring into our Trailwood community ever since. We have five kids, two that are now a Sophomore (Macy) and a Junior (Taylor) at Shawnee Mission South and three at Trailwood in Sixth grade (Logan) and Third grade (Brandon and Harper). I've enjoyed serving our school over the years but some of my favorites have been, Kindergarten Round Up Chair, Teacher/Staff Appreciation and Corresponding Secretary. Our principal, teachers, staff and families make Trailwood a fun, inviting place and we are thankful that God has given us this wonderful community!

This is my second year serving on the PTA Executive Board. I have been a Room Parent as well as helped with the Book Fair. We have Henry, a fourth grader in Mrs. Dennis's class and Cady, a second grader in Mrs. Rawlston's class. Professionally, I am a Nurse Practitioner and have worked at Children’s Mercy for the past 16 years. We are so excited to be at Trailwood!

We have had a wonderful four years at Trailwood so far and have two Thunderbirds: Caitlin (5th) and William (2nd). Growing up, our parents were heavily involved in our schools and PTA's. They set an example of what duty and community can do for a child's upbringing, and we want to provide the same for our children. The Trailwood community has been incredible, so I am thankful to be able to support it in a meaningful way.

We have two proud Thunderbirds, Ava (5th grade) and Elin (2nd grade) that have both attended since Kindergarten. Their big sister, Grace, is an esthetician and will attend college in Tulsa, OK this fall. I'm a former designer for Hallmark Cards that was blessed to turn my hobby into my profession when Ava started Kindergarten and I now spend my days treasure hunting and selling vintage furniture and wares. This is my first year serving on the PTA Executive Board and I am thrilled to be contributing to our special Trailwood community in such a meaningful way. We have had a wonderful experience during our many years here, and we're looking forward to another great school year!

ways and means - lindsay weiss

Lindsay has two kids, Brynn (6th grade) and Ryder (2nd grade), and her family has been invested in the Trailwood community since 2016. This is her first time being on the PTA executive board but she has been involved with various TWE activities and events before. Professionally she has experience as a social worker navigating crisis interventions with teens. She also volunteers with an international nonprofit, I Support The Girls and collects and distributes basic need items for the KC community. Lindsay and her family are very excited for this 2022 school year. Let’s go Thunderbirds!

I have two kids, Brynn (5th grade) and Connor (1st grade), and we have been at Trailwood since Brynn started pre-k. This is my first year serving on the PTA Executive Board, but I have enjoyed volunteering with the Trailwood community in a variety of ways over the years. My family loves Trailwood, and we're excited for another great school year!

We are so excited to begin our third year at Trailwood! We have Henley (2nd) and Camryn (Kindergarten). We have loved being part of the amazing Trailwood community. I've enjoyed being a room parent and working on the yearbook my previous two years here at Trailwood! The staff, teachers, students, and parents all make this school so wonderful and we're so grateful we get to be part of it. Go Thunderbirds!!!

Trailwood Elementary is such a special place! My family and I have loved being part of this supportive and giving community over the years. We currently have a 4th grader and a 1st grader at Trailwood and a 7th grader at Indian Woods! We have truly enjoyed the many opportunities for involvement at the school; Trailwood has something for everyone! We have made so many wonderful memories throughout our time here, and we look forward to many more!
