Meet the 2025 - 2026 trailwood pta Executive Board

I am excited to be serving for my fourth year on the PTA Executive Board. I love serving the school, kids and community. I have three girls. Kate is in 2nd grade, Ellie is in 4th grade and Caroline is in 7th grade. I am also a nurse and work at The University of Kansas Medical Center in the healthcare simulation education department. I work with many different healthcare specialties but primarily with 1st, 2nd and 4th year medical students. And when I’m not doing all of that, I love to play tennis, ski, and travel! 

president elect - sarah mcginnity

We're in our sixth year of Trailwood with many, many more to go! We have Henry (9th), Clark (6th), Lucy (4th) and Caroline (3 years old). We love the Trailwood community and try to support our teachers, staff, and kids as much as we can! I own Kansas City Mom Collective, a multimedia company with resources and community for KC parents. Our family loves to travel, cheer for K-State football, explore Kansas City, and play board games.

We have had a wonderful seven years at Trailwood so far and have one Thunderbird, William (4th), and one Wolf, Caitlin (7th). Growing up, our parents were heavily involved in our schools and PTA's. They set an example of what duty and community can do for a child's upbringing, and we want to provide the same for our children. The Trailwood community has been incredible, so I am thankful to be able to support it in a meaningful way.

I’m excited to serve as Treasurer-Elect this year! My husband (Austin) and I have three kids—Adrienne (6th grade), Reid (4th grade), and Sadie (8th grade). I’ve enjoyed helping with events like the T-Bird Trot, Senoritas & Sangrias, and the Progressive Dinner. Last year I chaired Reflections, Citizenship, and Grade-Level Art. Outside of PTA, I’ve worked as a clinical dietitian, in clinical research, and as a fitness instructor. I look forward to another great year at Trailwood!

ways and means - jennifer clipp

We’re in our third year at Trailwood, and we’re loving it more each year! My husband, Kevin, and I have three energetic kiddos: Crew (2nd grade), Laviana (kindergarten), and Leighton (3 years old and already trying to run the house). This is my first year serving on the PTA Executive Board, though I’ve been quietly working my way up the volunteer ladder—room parent, Teacher Appreciation Committee, grade-level party planner, and general "sure, I can help with that" person. Apparently, saying yes often enough lands you a fun new job! ;). I’m excited to keep building connections, support our rockstar teachers, and help create meaningful (and hopefully slightly organized) experiences for our students and families. In my free time—when I find some—I love traveling, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. Looking forward to a fun year!

It is my first year on the PTA's exec board as Membership chair, and my 8th year at Trailwood, with Ella (8th), William (4th) and Madison (1st). Our family has loved how many opportunities the PTA creates for us to connect and engage with others. I have been involved in everything from Senioritas and Sangrias to the T-Bird Trot to Progressive Dinner, some of my favorite TW PTA events!  Our family loves spending time outdoors, traveling, and cheering each other on, in our various sports and activities!

I have two kids, Brynn (7th grade) and Connor (3rd grade), and this is my family's 9th year at Trailwood. This is my 3rd year serving on the PTA Executive Board, having previously served as the Membership Chair. I've enjoyed volunteering with Trailwood in a variety of ways over the years, and my family feels so fortunate to be a part of this community! We're excited for another great school year!

I’m excited to join the Trailwood PTA Executive Board as a first-year member! My husband, Lauren, and I have two children: Finley, a second grader in Mrs. Seamon's class, and Ford, who turned two last summer. Volunteering at Trailwood has been such a rewarding way to connect with other families and support our school community. I’ve had the opportunity to help in the classroom, lead our spirit wear initiative, and assist with carnival coordination. I’m looking forward to continuing to contribute and grow with this amazing team! 

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion - jessica horner

After several years serving on various committees within the PTA, I’m excited to be joining the Executive Board at Trailwood this year! It is my family’s seventh year as Thunderbirds! My kids are Abe (6^th grade), Ellis (4^th grade), and Hazel (1^st grade). Trailwood has been such a welcoming community for us, and I hope that in my role I can assist the teachers, staff, and PTA board members in providing that same experience to all our Trailwood families! Professionally, I work as a flute instructor for the Blue Valley School District and as the Elementary Coordinator for Christ Church Anglican, and I squeeze in professional flute/piccolo gigs when time allows! You are most likely to find my family reading, playing music, cooking, or cheering at a baseball game!

This is my fifth year serving on PTA Executive Board. I have Henry, a seventh grader in middle school, and Cady, a fifth grader. I have so enjoyed serving on various committees at Trailwood as well as volunteering in the library. Professionally, I am a Nurse Practitioner at Children’s Mercy Hospital. We love being Thunderbirds!
