thank you, Trailwood!
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this year's Trivia Night! What a fantastic evening of raising important funds for our school and enjoying time with our amazing Thunderbird community!
Final numbers are still rolling in, but we had an incredibly successful (and fun) event! Whether you purchased a ticket, bid on items in our live or silent auction, shared information, helped to put together a grade level basket, helped with set-up, or offered to be a party host, YOU contributed to our PTA's mission of supporting the students, families and staff of Trailwood Elementary. We couldn't do what we do without you!
We'd also like to give a big shout-out to our dedicated Trivia Night committee members! Planning for this event begins months in advance, and we are so appreciative of their time and energy. Please give the following individuals a big thank you the next time you see them: Lori Tritsch (chair), Jamie Reasons, Katie Culbertson, Terri Delimont, Heidi Saunders, Rachel Ciordas, Jennifer Pontier, Jennifer McCabe and Andrea Hoover. thunderbird bowl-o-rama
Our 2nd Annual Trailwood Thunderbird Bowl-O-Rama was a huge success! We had a great time at Ward Parkway Lanes where we hung out with old and new friends, enjoyed lots of bowling fun, and raised funds for a new gaga ball pit!
Thank you to all who contributed to this cause by purchasing tickets, being an event sponsor, making donations and/or entering our raffle! We had a fabulous evening and are looking forward to a new gaga ball pit for our students coming soon!
dining partners
Dining partner events are amazing ways to support Trailwood while also enjoying some delicious food and supporting our community partners.
Do you know of a business that would be interested in learning more about the dining partners program? Please reach out to Cher Brownback, if so!
And, be sure to check out the information below for details on other great ways to give back!
MEMBERSHIP and yearbook sales coming soon
Stay tuned for your opportunity to purchase a PTA membership and support the work of our PTA later this summer!
Becoming a member does not obligate you to attend meetings or volunteer (although, we’d love to have you!). Your support allows us to provide our students, staff and families with a variety of fun and educational opportunities here at Trailwood!
You will also be able to purchase your child’s yearbook and pay their yearly activity fee at the same time. Yearbooks are a fantastic way for kids to reminisce on all the fun they had at Trailwood Elementary and will be delivered at the end of the year.
Stay tuned!
Chair a committee
We still have a few committees in need of chairs for the 2025-2026 school year. Please reach out to Cher Brownback if you have additional questions or are interested in being a volunteer.

Volunteer as a wingman
Calling all Trailwood dads and father figures!
This fall, please consider taking a half-day or full-day out of your busy schedules and spending some time in your child's classroom as a Wingman! This is a great opportunity to interact with the kids and see what they do every day! Your schedule will vary depending on the needs of the day, but you can plan on spending most of your day with your kiddo(s) in the classroom, on the playground or at specials.
Volunteers can choose the dates and times (half-days or full-days) and can float between classrooms (if more than one child is attending Trailwood).
While you don't have to be trained as an MVP to volunteer in this capacity, we do recommend it so that you will be able to work with students on your own. Trailwood will host two MVP trainings in the fall. Please join us on either September 4th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm or on September 16th from 8:30 am - 9:30 am.
Be on the lookout for a SignUp Genius coming at the beginning of the school year!
Please contact Leif Peterson with any questions.
become an mvp and make a difference
We hope you'll consider becoming an MVP next school year! This designation is given to adult volunteers in SMSD who would like the opportunity to work with/supervise kids on their own. These relationships are positively powerful for the child (and the adult), and we can always use people to serve in this role!
Trailwood will host two MVP trainings in the fall. Please join us on either September 4th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm or on September 16th from 8:30 am - 9:30 am.
For more information on the MVP program and alternative training dates, please use the link below. Please contact social worker Brenna Sandefur-Farrar if you have any additional questions.
2025 - 2026 PTA MEETINGs
We hope you'll join us for our first PTA meeting of the 2025 - 2026 school year on Thursday, September 11th, at 8:15 am in the Band Room. This meeting will take place after our annual Donuts with Grownups event on the playground.
Please come with your questions about everything Trailwood. Our monthly meetings are great opportunities to get to know each other and find out more about our fabulous community! Everyone is invited to attend! Children are always welcome!
We hope to see you there!
