welcome, thunderbirds!

Our PTA is a dedicated group of parents, teachers, and administrators who work together to provide resources and programs to all families in our school community.

The PTA supports the quality of education at Trailwood Elementary with strategic investments in curriculum materials, enrichment and instructional programs, and general support of our community that directly enhance the school's mission of excellence for all Trailwood students.

Congratulations, Mr. Lawrence!

Trailwood PTA is excited to announce that our principal, Greg Lawrence, has been named the KAHPERD Administrator of the year!

Each year KAHPERD honors teachers, administrators, program coordinators, and students for meritorious service and contributions to the profession in the educational disciplines of school health, physical education, recreation, adapted physical education and dance.

Thanks for all you do, Mr. Lawrence!

lunch time help wanted

Please consider helping out in the cafeteria this year! Our little kiddos oftentimes need assistance opening food/drink containers, a listening ear, or just help with clean-up when lunch is over. Take a look at the sign up below, and find a day that works with your schedule!

Thank you for helping to make our lunch period run smoothly!

Thank you, grade level party hosts!

Our fall adult grade level happy hours were a huge success, thanks in part to the fabulous generosity of our hosts! Trailwood parents and guardians had so much fun meeting other members of our community and connecting with old friends.

Thank you to everyone who helped to raise some important funds for our PTA!

MEMBERSHIPS and yearbooks ON SALE NOW

Support the amazing work of our PTA by purchasing a membership! Becoming a member does not obligate you to attend meetings or volunteer (although, we’d love to have you!). Your support allows us to provide our students, staff and families with a variety of fun and educational opportunities here at Trailwood!

You can also purchase your child’s yearbook and pay their yearly activity fee here. Yearbooks are a fantastic way for kids to reminisce on all the fun they had at Trailwood Elementary and will be delivered in May.

Volunteer as a wingman

Calling all Trailwood dads and father figures!

Please consider taking a half-day or full-day out of your busy schedules and spending some time in your child's classroom as a Wingman! This is a great opportunity to interact with the kids and see what they do every day! Your schedule will vary depending on the needs of the day, but you can plan on spending most of your day with your kiddo(s) in the classroom, on the playground or at specials.

Volunteers can choose the dates and times (half-days or full-days) and can float between classrooms (if more than one child is attending Trailwood). Sign up at the link below!

Please contact Leif Peterson with any questions.

become an mvp and make a difference

We hope you'll consider becoming an MVP this year! This designation is given to adult volunteers in SMSD who would like the opportunity to work with/supervise kids on their own. These relationships are positively powerful for the child (and the adult), and we can always use people to serve in this role!

For more information on the MVP program and training dates, please use the link below. Please contact social worker Brenna Sandefur-Farrar if you have any additional questions.

2023 - 2024 PTA MEETINGs

We hope you'll join us on Tuesday, March 19th, at 8:15 am in the Commons for our monthly PTA meeting.

Please come with your questions about everything Trailwood. Our monthly meetings are great opportunities to get to know each other and find out more about our fabulous community! Everyone is invited to attend! Children are always welcome!

We hope to see you there!
